Perfect for a cold winter day, this easy stovetop turkey vegetable chili recipe will fill you up. This is for you if you’re looking for a healthy turkey chili recipe with vegetables to boot.

The first time I made this, I was actually grabbing whatever I had on hand from the pantry. Since I had recently purchased a pound of lean ground turkey, turkey vegetable chili sounded good.
However, I wanted a veggie but not corn kernels. Ah, I just happened to have a can of golden hominy. And, of course, chili isn’t chili without beans.
The best part about this recipe is it’s so easy to make. And if you love chili, this might become one of your go-to recipes as is now one of mine (because it’s one of my husband’s favs).

Ingredients You Will Need
- a pound of ground turkey
- 1 onion
- chili powder seasoning
- 1 can black beans
- 1 can red kidney beans
- golden hominy
- 1 can mild stewed tomatoes (or diced tomatoes with green chiles
- chili toppings such as sour cream and cheddar cheese
- (optional) chicken broth
- Six Seasonings (Also optional, but this is a great seasoning to keep in your pantry.)

Adaptions for Turkey Vegetable Chili Ingredients
- a pound of ground beef
- other types of beans
- chicken stock
- tomato paste if you don’t have tomatoes
- Greek yogurt can be used instead of sour cream.
When our children and grandchildren came to our house to celebrate Christmas, I included this turkey vegetable chili as part of a taco bar. It makes a great meal and is one of the best ways to satisfy even the picky eaters.
Easy Turkey Vegetable Chili

Ingredients
- 1 pound Lean ground turkey
- 1 Sweet onion
- 1 tablespoon Chili powder seasoning I use Santa Fe Seasons chili seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Santa Fe Seasons Six Seasonings You may use salt and pepper or your favorite basic seasoning.
- 1 can Black beans
- 1 can Red kidney beans
- 1 can Golden hominy
- 1 can Mild stewed tomatoes
- 1 32-ounce Box of chicken broth Optional. You can use 4 cups of water and add extra seasoning to taste.
Instructions

Brown turkey.

While browning the ground turkey, add seasonings.

Drain any grease if not using lean ground turkey before adding other ingredients.

Add chopped onion.

Add black and kidney beans (Drain the beans if you prefer.)

Add hominy, tomatoes, and 4 cups of water or the chicken broth and stir.

Once it's boiling, turn the burner down to low or simmer.

It's ready to eat.
Recipe Notes
The calories are estimated at approximately 1 cup of the meat, 1/2 cup of beans, 1/3 cup of hominy, and 1/2 cup of tomatoes.
Serve with cornbread, and you have a complete meal. Or, fix tacos with a cup of turkey vegetable chili on the side. Save the rest for leftovers, and/or freeze some for later.
