Napoleon Cheeseburger

Grill a Napoleon burger with Roquefort cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs 80% Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 tbsp Santa Fe Seasons Six Seasonings a blend of herbs and spices
  • 1 ounce Slice of Roquefort Cheese
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 2 Sweet Onions
  • 6 slices Tomatoes
  • 6 leaves Lettuce
  • 1 bag charcoal
  • 1 bag Mesquite wood chips
  • 1 bottle Lighter fluid
  • Mayonnaise and/or mustard
  • 1 pkg Onion buns or baguettes to make it more French style

Instructions

  1. Mix the ground beef with the seasonings and form into 6 patties, add salt and pepper if you desire, and store in the refrigerator.

  2. Prepare the grill, add the charcoal, light the charcoal, then add a handful of Mesquite wood chips that have been soaked for thirty minutes.

  3. Slice the onions, wrap them in foil, seal, and place the onions on the grill while hamburgers are cooking.

  4. Or heat a cast iron skillet on the stove, pour enough vegetable oil in the pan to just cover the bottom, then add the onions.

  5. Cook the onions about five minutes on medium heat.

  6. Toast or bake the buns or baguettes (just long enough for the buns to be lightly toasted or according to directions on the baguette package).

  7. Add mayonnaise and/or mustard according to your taste.

  8. Place the hamburger, cheese, onions, tomato, and lettuce inside the buns, and enjoy.
