Ribeye Steak

Serve your guests burritos using this air fryer ribeye steak recipe. Why?Because it takes less than ten minutes.

Using an air fryer makes the easiest ribeyes. Cooked on the grill or the air fryer, ribeyes make a warm Texas Christmas holiday perfect with a burrito brunch.

It’s nostalgic during holidays to serve the same family traditional recipes every year. However, I also love to see new dishes that family and friends bring for the festivities. So, I decided to make air fryer ribeye steaks for something different, and they were a hit with my family.

Preparing Ribeyes for Burritos

When you’re preparing ribeyes for burritos, slice the ribeyes. Then, cut them into chunks. Wrap the ribeye pieces into a tortilla, and add toppings of your choice for a delicious burrito.

Do a Burrito Bar

For Christmas 2021 family holiday time, I decided to do a burrito bar for brunch. My daughter had suggested the idea when I mentioned my plan to include ribeye burritos, and I loved the idea.

The menu included the air fryer ribeye steak and low-carb tortillas for the burritos. So if you’re looking for an easy meal, consider air fryer ribeye for burritos.

Breakfast is my favorite meal, and ribeye is my favorite steak. Therefore, I personally enjoyed the Christmas meal. Incidentally, I received compliments on the steak and burrito bar, and everyone seemed to love the brunch.

Choose brunch ingredients such as:

  • ribeye steak
  • tortillas
  • hot sauce
  • creamy scrambled eggs with cheese
  • Pico de Gallo sausage
  • strawberry and blackberry fruit crepes topped with whipped cream for dessert

Air Fryer Ribeye Steak Makes Great Leftover Meals

Ribeye steak makes great leftover meals if you were to ask my grandchildren. During their holiday break, they stayed with us a few extra days. And to my surprise, they requested the steak burritos for three evenings in a row.

Leftover Steak Burritos Are Easy to Make

As you can see below, leftover steak burritos are easy to make:

  1. Heat up the tortillas on a gas stove burner, or you can cook them in a pan, on an electric stove, or in the microwave.
  2. Next, heat up the steak slices/chunks in the microwave for up to a minute or so. If you prefer, heat the steak in an air fryer for approximately three to five minutes.
  3. Add steak pieces, sour cream, grated cheese, and salsa inside each tortilla.
  4. Roll up the tortillas, and they are ready to eat.

It’s that easy. Your kids or grandkids are bound to like the ribeye burritos, and actually, they may like them more than even cereal. Furthermore, the  steak burritos may be more nutritious because of the low-carb tortillas.

Electric Cooking Appliances

What electric cooking appliances do you like to use? Do you prefer cooking with your stove, oven, and a microwave, or do you enjoy using additional small cooking appliances?

Some home chefs like to keep cooking simple, that is, by not adding too many small cooking appliances. For example, they can add clutter to a kitchen counter or take up too much space in a small pantry. In other words, there just isn’t enough room for storage.

Favorite Cooking Appliances

Every cook has favorite cooking appliances, and one of mine is the air fryer. My list of favorite electric kitchen appliances is listed below.

  • Air fryer
  • Pressure cooker
  • Slow cooker
  • Griddle

Electric cooking appliances are convenient to use. For example, they are helpful in keeping the kitchen from being so hot on summer days. During the heat of the summer, it doesn’t take long for my kitchen to warm up when I’m cooking and/or baking. For that reason, I prefer to use my small electric cooking appliances.

And for Christmas breakfast brunch for my family, ribeye burritos cooked in the air fryer worked wonderfully.

Although I heated my tortillas on the gas stove, a griddle would have worked great as well. I love using my electric griddle (sort of like the one below).

My First Air Fryer Experiment

The first time I cooked in an air fryer, a cousin brought her new one over for me to show her how to use it. We experimented with salmon and grilled cheese recipes. It didn’t take long until I purchased my own air fryer.

My Funniest Experiment in the Air Fryer

Let me tell you about my funniest air fryer experiment with a grilled cheese sandwich. The air blew the bread around in the fryer a little too much, and the corner of the sandwich was burned. Therefore, watch closely if you decide to cook something with bread.

Try Steak in an Air Fryer

A friend suggested I try steak in an air fryer because it’s so easy and quick. However, I couldn’t imagine it tasting near as good as my husband’s grilled steaks.

When it comes to ribeyes, my husband grills them to perfection. Nevertheless, I bought a small ribeye just to see how easy it would be. I was amazed at how good the ribeye tasted, so tender and juicy.

Choosing the Ribeye for the Air Fryer

When choosing the ribeye to cook in your air fryer, look for a smaller cut and less than an inch thick.

Prices have gone up a bit for ribeye steaks. And I’ve noticed that the steaks aren’t cut as thick, yet the price has gone up. I chose a small ribeye at the grocery store for about $8, but that size may now cost more.

How Long Does It Take To Cook a Ribeye in an Air Fryer?

Cooking my ribeye in the air fryer only took nine minutes.

The results? A medium well, juicy, incredibly tasting ribeye. I’m convinced now that ribeyes can be perfectly cooked in an air fryer.

Incidentally, the next time you think about treating yourself with a ribeye at a steakhouse, first consider cooking your own. You should be able to find one for only $8 to $10. Grill the ribeye, or cook it in your air fryer.

But of course, treat yourself to dining out for a steak if you need a break from cooking. Enjoy even if it does cost $20 or more for a steak.

Air fryer ribeye steaks are so easy to do. If you need a recipe, though, use mine shown below. I cooked this ribeye in a small Bella air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 1 Ribeye small to medium for smaller air fryer/any size for large air fryer
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon Steak seasoning

Instructions

  1. Heat the air fryer on 400 for 3-4 minutes.

  2. Season both sides of the steak, approximately 1/2 teaspoon on each side of a small steak.

  3. Open the air fryer basket, and put the steak on the air fryer crisper grill tray.

  4. Close and cook for 5 minutes, turn the steak over, close again and cook for 4 more minutes (if cooked in a small air fryer and you want the ribeye medium well).

  5. Open the air fryer basket to check for doneness.

  6. Slice and eat.

This recipe is for one ribeye, but two can be cooked at the same time. Once the steaks are done, slice them, chop them into bite-size pieces.

It’s so easy to prepare the ribeyes in an air fryer. Keep them warm in the oven until it’s time to slice them.

How Many Ribeyes Can You Cook in an Air Fryer at a Time?

For our Christmas family brunch, I could only fit one ribeye in my air fryer at a time. That’s because the steaks were too large to fit into my size air fryer. The first time I cooked a ribeye in my air fryer, however, the steak was smaller.

See how easy it is to make ribbeye burritos using the air fryer? Now you can make a quick ribeye for dinner.

Cooking the Perfect Steak

There are different ways to cook the perfect steak. It depends on whether you use a outdoor grill, air fryer, oven, cast iron pan or other ways. Check out Patty Cake Pantry’s article on cooking the perfect steak.

If you love Brussels sprouts, green beans, or cabbage, try these delicious veggie recipes. They are very good to serve with ribeye steak.
